What respite is
Respite is short-term, scheduled coverage in the home (or wherever your authorized plan allows) so the primary caregiver can step away without guilt. It is still non-medical home services—personal care, safety supervision, meals, reminders, and companionship—per the same kind of care plan you use for ongoing hours, just booked when you need relief.
What we offer
- Coverage blocks from a few hours to a full day—or recurring weekly relief so you can plan life again
- Supervision and engagement: conversation, activities, and calm reassurance so your loved one is never left alone
- Hands-on help with bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers, and mobility when included in the plan
- Meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders (we follow orders; we don’t prescribe)
- Notes and communication back to you—or to your case manager on CCP—so you know how the visit went
- Caregivers matched for personality, language, and skill; backup coordination from our Bartlett office
When families call us
- You’re exhausted from overnight care and need predictable sleep
- You’re returning to work, traveling, or managing your own health appointments
- You want to reduce burnout before a crisis forces a rushed decision
- You already have daily hours but need extra coverage for a specific week or event
Community Care Program clients: hours and tasks must stay within what your case manager authorizes—we’ll help you ask the right questions when you request a change.
Why families choose us
- Women-owned, local agency—you reach people who know Chicagoland suburbs, not a distant call center
- Background-checked, trained staff with ongoing supervision (we don’t “certify” people; we train and oversee)
- Intentional handoffs: we review routines, fall risks, dietary notes, and “what good looks like” in your home before the first respite visit
